Transition... According to Websters Collegiate Dictionary, Transition means: movement, passage, or change from one position, state, stage, subject, concept, etc., to another; change: the transition from adolescence to adulthood...
In your lives transition means moving from youth to adulthood, changing from being a responsibility, to becoming responsible. Transition releases control from your parents or guardians, and puts control for your life into your hands.
Not everyone can assume complete control over their own lives. Lets face it, certain types of challenges and disabilities make it almost impossible to live a life without having someone else there to assure we are safe, healthy, and cared for... and so for some transition become assuming a more active role in their ongoing life, but perhaps not complete control. For others transition may bring about more involvement, more responsibility, or complete control. No matter what your situation, transition requires some planning a forethought.
